Wolfchant - Embraced By Fire
Hails and Cheers Metal Templars! Tonight I am in awe of the snow covered landscape outside my window. The scenery always inspires me to throw on some Pagan Metal, grab some spiced wine, and have a damn good time. Nothing like a little WOLFCHANT to frame the evening.
"Embraced By Fire" is WOLFCHANT’s 5th full length album to date, and it truly an epic piece of Pagan Metal. The songs are ripe with Nordic Mythology, Paganism, Anti-Christianity, and are delivered by deep and powerful Metal riffs that would make Odin himself smile. The songs are diverse, almost spiritual, and really showcase Lokhi and Nortwin’s vocal blends. The guitar and keys create an atmosphere of preparing for battle; driving, rolling, and larger than life riffs make you want to pillage something. Sarlov’s bass and Norgahd’ drum work are pretty damn good in maintaining that windmill inducing background of rhythm.
If i would fuss about anything, it would be that the recording is a bit thin, and the album is a tad bit short as far as songs go. For a rating I would give it a 7 out of 10. Musically it is really damn good, but with only 8 songs, it doesn’t really feel like I’m getting my money’s worth. As always, stay well, and live free my friends! Cheers!
